Who is the management of MIB Solutions Inc.?

Lee B. Oliphant, Executive Vice President
Lee Oliphant is responsible for MIB Solutions’ overall success in the market as well as being an officer of MIB Group, Inc. He joined MIB Group in 1999 as the company’s first Chief Financial Officer responsible for the accounting, treasury, strategic and tactical planning, facilities, and all aspects of financial management of MIB. In 2004, Lee assumed the additional role heading up MIB’s sales and marketing functions. In June 2006, he was appointed Executive Vice President of both MIB Group and MIB Solutions. Lee began his career with a Big Four public accounting firm, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has held executive management positions at various technology companies in the Boston area. Lee earned his M.B.A. from Boston College and has a B.S. in Business Administration from Lehigh University.

Stacy J. Gill, Vice President, Actuarial and Statistical Research
Stacy Gill leads MIB Solutions’ Actuarial and Statistical Research Group which is responsible for product research and development as well as industry-wide experience studies and medical impairment studies conducted by the Center for Medico-Actuarial Statistics (CMAS). Stacy joined MIB in 1986 and has held roles of increasing responsibility in technology, industry research and product development. He has presented at numerous industry conferences and groups including the Society of Actuaries, the Institute of Home Office Underwriters, and the American Academy of Insurance Medicine. Stacy earned his M.S. in Actuarial Science and his B.S. in Mathematics, both from Boston University.

Thomas E. Rhodes, FSA, MAAA, Associate Vice President and Actuarial Director, Actuarial and Statistical Research
Tom Rhodes oversees MIB Solutions’ intercompany experience studies on life, long-term care insurance and annuities; performs analytic research for insurance companies and reinsurers; and maintains an integral role in developing new products and services for the insurance industry. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Tom regularly presents at industry meetings and at NAIC meetings on enterprise risk management and Principles-Based Valuation and is a former Chair of the Society of Actuaries Individual Life Experience Committee. Prior to MIB, Tom worked for the Guardian Life Insurance Company for 15 years, most recently as Second Vice President and Actuary. He was also Chief Actuary at the U.S. Veterans Administration. Tom earned his M.S. in Business Administration from Temple University and has a B.S. degree from Oberlin College.

Douglas M. Mertz, RHU, Vice President, Sales
Doug Mertz leads MIB Solutions’ sales effort with over 35 years of sales and marketing experience in the life insurance industry. He heads a group of sales professionals and personally supports the reinsurance market, as well as supporting MIB Solutions’ new product – new market development efforts. Doug maintains revenue responsibilities for a majority of MIB Solutions’ products. He joined MIB in 2000 to develop and lead a newly created sales group. Immediately prior, he was Vice President and Director of Agencies at Massachusetts Casualty Insurance Company and spent 10 years with the Paul Revere Life Insurance Company holding numerous sales and marketing positions. Doug is a Registered Health Underwriter

Kevin J. Gorny, Senior Director, Information Technology
Kevin Gorny is responsible for establishing and executing the strategic direction of technology to support MIB Solutions. He is also responsible for MIB Group’s enterprise-level technology acquisition, procurement and implementation. Kevin has over 30 years’ experience with MIB in Operations, Finance and Technology Management. Prior to his appointment as a Senior Director, Kevin held various management positions in Computer Operations and Technology Services. He is an active member of the North American Research Exchange (NOREX), a technology consortium, and serves on their Member Advisory Board.

Brian S. Millman, Senior Manager, New Business Development
Brian Millman leads MIB Solutions’ new business development efforts and is responsible for the execution and management of products entering the market. He currently manages MIB Solutions’ Audit Focus and Underwriting Risk Management Solutions offerings. Brian started with MIB in the Systems and Technology area in 1994 and has extensive expertise in MIB’s database systems, search technologies and production environments. Brian earned his M.B.A. from Curry College and has a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts. He has multiple technology certificates from Bentley College and Northeastern University.

David O. Aronson, Marketing Director
David Aronson maintains responsibility for all product marketing and corporate branding. He has over 25 years’ experience in marketing, corporate communications and public relations across a variety of industries including life insurance, software, technology and industry trade associations. David joined MIB in 2002 as MIB Group, Inc.’s first Marketing Communications Manager. He started his career at Sun Life of Canada’s U.S. Headquarters and later established a marketing and advertising firm in Boston, principally servicing Fortune 500 clients. David earned his M.B.A. from Babson College and has a B.S. from Boston University’s College of Communication.”
